Fourier supporting community initiatives - The 2010 National Business Relay Challenge

The National Business Relay Challenge is an annual relay event hosted by the Magnolia Road Runners club. On the 2nd of October 15 Fourier colleagues took part in the 2010 event. The relay started at six in the morning at Rietondale Park. The event encourages corporate participation, and in return encourages team building, by giving colleagues a chance to do something fun and challenging together. Each team covers 42.2km, with each team member in a team of completing a 7km lap. The race was open to both runners and walkers. Fourier had 2 running teams and 1 walking team entered into the race.
Some of the teams that took part in the event include Telkom, Absa, and Transnet. During the 7km distance our walkers could chat to members from other walking teams. At the end of the big event most of the participants took the opportunity to enjoy a Saturday afternoon braai by their stands. Everyone was in high spirits and chatted happily about how they experienced the race.
Fourier has an initiative to get involved in community initiatives in 2011. Watch this space.
